Changing the filter cartridge is a fairly simple process:

1. Turn on your filter tap (so that you can be sure the water stops running in step 2).
2. Isolate the water supply by turning the saddle valve clockwise or compression valve by 90 degrees until the water stops running.
3. Using the filter housing spanner that came with your kit turn the housing bowl from right to left to loosen it.
• You may need to hold the housing cap with one hand.
• If the housing bowl is difficult to move you need to increase the leverage by extending the length of the spanner handle. Vacuum cleaner rigid tubes work well slipped over the handle.
4. Once the housing bowl is loosened you can remove the spanner and do the rest by hand.
5. Discard the spent cartridge.
6. Fit the new cartridge into the housing bowl and then screw it onto the housing cap left to right by hand.

DO NOT use the spanner to tighten the housing bowl - this will make it very difficult to undo at the next filter change.
