Pearl Bacteria Drinking Water Filter

Our Pearl bacteria water filter improves the taste and odour of your water and removes chlorine and sediments as well as bacteria that may be present in your water.

The Pearl bacteria water filter removes Campylobacter, E.Coli, Cryptosporidium and other cysts, for example Giardia. In addition; Chloramines, Trihalomethanes & PAHs, pharmaceutical residues, endocrine disruptors, hormones are also removed.

This filter will also remove micro plastics down to 0.5 microns, as well as PFAS, up to 50% of lead, and other chemicals.

You can mount the Pearl bacteria water filter either under your sink or on the bench top.

The housing dimensions are 34H x 14W x 13D (volume occupied in cm).

Your kit will include:

• 1 x white filter housing
• 1 x single white housing bracket
• 1 x 0.5 micron solid block activated carbon cartridge (MAXVOC-975). We may on occasion substitute with a 0.5 micron carbon block cartridge (MAX-PB). They both remove bacteria, micro-organisms and cysts in water.
• A choice of drinking water filter taps or you can choose the 'no tap' option. You would choose the 'no tap' option if you already have a tap or wish to buy a 3 way tap.
• Either a self-piercing saddle valve or a 15mm compression valve
• Blue tubing (approximately 2 metres)
• Red tubing (approximately 2 metres)
• 1 x housing spanner
• DIY instructions. No need for a plumber!

The UK's drinking water is considered to be among the best in the world meaning that we can turn our kitchen tap on and feel confident that the water we're drinking is safe and clean.

The law says that drinking water should be 'wholesome and clean' and free from any microorganisms and parasites and from any substances which, in number or concentrations, constitute a potential danger to human health.

But, we all know that things can go wrong between the water treatment plant and your home which unfortunately may lead to bacteria being present in the water that you end up drinking.

Water is treated before it reaches you with chlorine and ultra violet to ensure that it's the safest it can be as it travels along the lengthy pipework to your home. But water can pick up bacteria along the way and often all it takes is a broken pipe in the street and you've given the green light for bacteria such as E-coli to find it's way into your drinking water from soil and surface water.

Some of these bacteria are resistant to chlorine such as Cryptosporidium. This type of bacteria in water would cause gastrointestinal problems in some people, particularly young children and the elderly.
