In terms of our water filter systems, a saddle valve is used to supply water where a low volume, low pressure stream is required. The saddle valve gets it's name because it's mounted in such a way that it 'saddles' the line, mounting it from both sides.
A saddle valve is mounted directly onto a water pipe. They are self-tapping devices which means that once it's mounted on a line with the included rubber seal in place, all you need to do is turn the valve clockwise until it pierces the water line. When the valve handle can no longer be turned, it is done tapping the pipe.
These valves can be installed without shutting off the main water supply.
This is a self piercing saddle valve for ¼ tubing to a 15mm water pipe.
No tubing included. Please see related products below for tubing.
You can choose a 15mm compression fitting instead.
Turning the valve handle anti-clockwise opens the valve.
