The maintenance requirement for a boat water filter is minimal. It's just down to cartridge changes.

The frequency in which you change the cartridges in your boat water filter depends on how much water is going through it, and if there is sediment present in the source water, how clogged up the sediment water filter cartridge gets. A general rule of thumb is that you should change the water filter cartridge every 12 months as a minimum unless you notice a significant drop in flow rate, in which case that's a sign that you need to replace the cartridge.
