What is a Double Check Valve?

A double check valve is an inline device that allows water to flow in one direction into your property. It will protect your mains water filter from backflow and possible contamination of your water supply. 

Backflow is where water flows in the wrong direction through your filter. 

A double check valve is made up of two check valves in series. One check valve will still work, even if the other one is jammed open. Also, closing one valve reduces the pressure differential across the other valve which allows for a better seal thus fewer chances for leaks to occur.

Our double check valve is WRAS approved and made of brass. 

The end to end length of the double check valve 15mm is 78mm.
