Silicon grease is a translucent white viscous paste that has many uses.
It's normally made by combining silicon oil and a soap thickener. It doesn't swell or soften the rubber.
Silicon grease is used in many plumbing jobs such as lubrication and preserving of many types of rubber parts such as water filter housing o rings. It is insoluble in methanol, ethanol, and water.
This lubricant has an operating temperature range of -40 °C to - 200 °C.
