It's not very often that there's something exciting and new that comes along that completely changes things.

But NanoCeram technology from Argonide has done just that.

This is NASA derived technology for purifying drinking water down to the nth degree plus it also removes the chemicals in mains water that you don't want or like.

Better still, it will operate at higher flow rates than anything of a similar size on the market today - 8 litres per minute as standard with a peak capability of over 20 litres per minute.

Unlike other filters this one won't reduce your tap to a trickle.

What is Pure Water?

There's a bewildering array of water treatment systems you may have already found. There are also differing ideas about what pure water actually is.

A strict definition of "purified water" is that it is water with impurities removed.

A better, more healthy definition may be water that has had the unwanted impurities taken out.

What's the Solution?

Chemicals that make your water taste and smell bitter and unpleasant, such as chlorine, are removed.

Along with hormones, nitrates, endocrine disruptors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs**), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), trihalomethanes (THMs) and many others.

That sub micron pleated filter from Argonide, the NanoCeram PAC® cartridge, is a 0.2 micron high capacity electropositive filter that removes and reduces a whole spectrum of impurities and contaminants.

It also takes out particles such as lead and iron, and micro plastics (of which there are't many in the UK's public water supply when compared with bottled water).

What are the Dissolved Salts?

Dissolved salts that are retained includes calcium in carbonate form. If you've looked at the newer models of reverse osmosis (RO) systems you'll have seen that many of them now have an extra stage that adds calcium carbonate back into the filtered water. And then there's magnesium removed by RO too...

If it's desirable to have those minerals in the water why remove it in the first place?! By now, you may be seeing that over purifying water is not necessarily a good thing to do for your health.

Is this Better than Reverse Osmosis?

Unlike RO systems with 5 or more cartridges to replace regularly (between 6 months and 2 years, depending on the item) it's a unlikely that you'll need to replace the cartridge more than annually, although this does depend on the volume of water your houshold uses.

There's also no waste water at all, and no electricity supply required to make the system work.

Installation is simple - unfiltered water goes in on one side and filtered water comes out of the other - no need for a drain. And once it's fitted, you can carry out the filter cartridge change over yourself.

You can install this filter under your sink inline with the cold water supply to your kitchen tap.

The housing dimensions are 34H x 13W x 13D (volume occupied in cm).

Installation

The kit comes with standard UK 1/2'' BSP connectors and 300mm flexible hoses that most people will be able to install themselves by following our detailed instructions.

We also don't use fancy packaging that bumps the price up - all the value is in the high quality components you get.

Best of all the components are all industry standard sizes so you aren't stuck having to buy replacements from a single supplier at a premium price.

That means if you want a different type of filter in the future you can just buy a different cartridge.
