Is this right for me?

Choose this if

You want to stop buying bottled water, cut down on single use plastic, and have safe drinking water wherever you are - commuting, at the gym, travelling, at festivals, hiking or camping. It's ideal for trips to places where the tap water isn't safe to drink, because you can fill it from almost any non-salt water source and drink filtered water straight away.

Not ideal if

You want to filter the water in your home from the tap (take a look at our drinking water filters or mains water filters instead), or you need to make seawater drinkable - the filter works on fresh, non-salt water only and doesn't desalinate.

What to check before buying

• Capacity: this is the 750ml (75cl) bottle - a personal, on-the-go size.
• Colour: choose from black, blue, green or red.
• Water source: it filters any non-salt water. It isn't designed for salt or sea water.
• Replacement filters: the filter is a consumable that needs replacing roughly every 3 months (200 litres). You can add spare filters when you order.

How it works

The Water to Go filter combines three types of filtration in a single cartridge - which is where the "3-in-1" comes from. As you drink, water is drawn through the filter and cleaned in one pass: a fine membrane physically traps particles, sediment and larger contaminants; a positively charged surface attracts and holds onto sub-micron contaminants such as bacteria and viruses; and an activated carbon element reduces chlorine, chemicals and heavy metals while improving the taste and smell of the water.

The result is safe, better tasting drinking water from almost any non-salt source, without the cost and waste of single use plastic bottles.

How to use

Using the bottle couldn't be simpler:

1. Unscrew the lid and fill the bottle from any non-salt water source.
2. Screw the lid, with the filter fitted, back on.
3. Open the mouthpiece and drink - the water is filtered as you sip.

When you first use a new filter, give it a minute to wet through, then take a few sips to prime it.

Filter life & running costs

Each filter lasts for around 200 litres, which is roughly 3 months of typical use, and replaces about 400 single-use plastic bottles - so the running costs are low and the environmental saving is significant. You'll notice the flow slow down when a filter is reaching the end of its life.
