Overview

The Pearl Mini is a compact inline drinking water filter that reduces chlorine, improves taste and odour, and filters sediment, making it an ideal solution wherever installation space is limited.

With the filter contained entirely within the sealed cartridge, the Pearl Mini takes up very little room under a sink or behind an appliance. It's equally at home in kitchens, caravans, motorhomes, boats, refrigerators, water coolers and drinks machines where a larger filter simply won't fit.

Choose this if

You're looking for an effective drinking water filter but don't have room for a larger under sink system. The Pearl Mini's compact inline design fits neatly into tight spaces, making it ideal for kitchens, boats, caravans, motorhomes, water coolers, refrigerators, ice makers and drinks machines.

It's a great choice if you want better tasting drinking water, straightforward DIY installation and the flexibility to choose a cartridge that best suits your water filtration needs.

Not ideal if

The Pearl Mini is designed to improve the taste and quality of mains drinking water, but it isn't suitable for every application. If you need to reduce bacteria or cysts, take a look at the Oyster TBC. Unlike traditional filter housings, the Pearl Mini uses a sealed inline cartridge, so when the filter reaches the end of its service life, the complete cartridge is simply replaced.

What to check before buying

• Available space: Allow enough room for the 10-inch inline cartridge, together with the tubing and push-fit connections. You'll also need sufficient clearance to replace the cartridge when required.
• Drinking water tap: Choose one of our six drinking water taps, or select 'No Tap' if you're connecting to an existing filter tap or directly to an appliance.
• : Select either a 15mm compression valve or a self-piercing saddle valve, depending on your plumbing.
• Cartridge choice: Choose the cartridge that's right for your application, whether that's chlorine and taste reduction, limescale reduction, sediment filtration or the long-life WRAS Approved option (see Specifications).

What it reduces and what it doesn't 

The Pearl Mini reduces:

• Chlorine: carbon block cartridges help reduce chlorine, improving the taste and smell of mains drinking water.
• Taste and odour: activated carbon reduces many of the compounds that can leave drinking water tasting or smelling unpleasant.
• Sediment: filters out fine particles such as dirt, rust and other suspended matter to improve water clarity.
• Scale formation: when fitted with the H15PA polyphosphate cartridge, the Pearl Mini helps reduce limescale build-up on appliances and fittings.

The Pearl Mini doesn't reduce:

• Fluoride: if you need fluoride reduction, please see our dedicated fluoride water filters.
• Bacteria and micro-organisms: this filter is designed for treated mains drinking water and is not intended for microbiological purification.
• Heavy metals: if reducing metals is your priority, we recommend choosing a filter specifically designed for that purpose.
• Water hardness: the optional scale inhibitor cartridge helps reduce limescale formation but does not soften the water or remove naturally dissolved minerals such as calcium and magnesium.

How it works

Unlike a traditional under sink water filter, the Pearl Mini doesn't require a separate filter housing. The filter is contained entirely within a compact sealed cartridge with integrated ¼" push-fit connections, making installation quicker and ideal where space is limited.

Water passes directly through the selected cartridge, where the filter media performs the required treatment. Activated carbon cartridges help reduce chlorine, improve taste and odour, and trap fine sediment, while the dedicated sediment cartridge removes dirt, rust and suspended particles. If you choose the optional scale inhibitor cartridge, a small amount of food-grade polyphosphate is released to help reduce limescale forming in downstream appliances and pipework.

Installation & placement

The Pearl Mini is installed inline on the cold water supply, making it suitable for dedicated drinking water taps as well as refrigerators, ice makers, water coolers, drinks machines, boats, caravans and motorhomes.

The integrated ¼" push-fit connections make installation quick and straightforward for anyone with basic DIY skills. Full fitting instructions are included with every filter, and you can also download the installation guide before fitting the system.

Maintenance & running costs

The Pearl Mini uses a sealed inline cartridge, so when it reaches the end of its service life, you simply replace the complete cartridge. There's no filter housing to open and no internal cartridge to change.

Replacement intervals vary depending on the cartridge selected, your water quality and the amount of water used. Please refer to the cartridge capacities above for guidance.

To make maintenance easier, we'll send you a reminder email every six months with a link to the correct replacement cartridge, so keeping your filter performing at its best couldn't be simpler.

Which Pearl Mini cartridge should I choose?

Choose the H14PA carbon block for everyday taste, odour and chlorine reduction; the H15PA if you also want to reduce scale build-up; the H12PA if you only need to filter out dirt and sediment; or the long-life, WRAS approved H14PAX if you'd prefer a higher-capacity carbon cartridge. All four fit the same inline filter.

Will the Pearl Mini fit under my sink?

The Pearl Mini is designed for installations where space is limited. The sealed inline cartridge measures approximately 10 inches long and 2 inches in diameter, making it much more compact than a traditional filter housing. Just make sure you have enough space for the tubing and to replace the cartridge when required.

Can I install the Pearl Mini myself?

Yes. The Pearl Mini is designed for DIY installation and features integrated ¼" push-fit connections for quick, straightforward fitting. Full installation instructions are included, and most customers can install the filter without needing a plumber.

How often does the cartridge need replacing?

Replacement intervals depend on the cartridge fitted, your water quality and how much water you use. For example, the standard carbon block cartridge has a typical capacity of around 8,000 litres, while the long-life H14PAX cartridge is rated to approximately 9,500 litres or up to 6 months.
