The Acquapuro ACQ-IFC+ replacement filter cartridge is designed to replace an existing ACQ-IFC+ cartridge in a compatible filtration system.
It is suitable as a replacement cartridge for compatible:
The ACQ-IFC+ combines a 1 micron carbon block with polyphosphate scale-control media, making it particularly useful in boiling water systems where filtration and protection against limescale are both required.
The manufacturer's technical information identifies kitchen filtration taps, ice-makers, fridges and 3 and 4-in-1 tank filtration among the intended applications.
Before ordering: Check that your existing cartridge is an ACQ-IFC+ cartridge and that you already have the appropriate filter head, connections and fittings. This product is supplied as a replacement cartridge rather than a complete installation kit.
The ACQ-IFC+ replacement cartridge combines a 1 micron carbon block with polyphosphate scale-control media, providing drinking water filtration and helping protect compatible boiling-water systems and appliances from limescale.
| Reduces / controls | What the filter does |
| Chlorine | Reduces chlorine to improve taste and odour |
| Fine particles & sediment | 1 micron filtration reduces Class 1 particulates, rust, silt and other fine particles |
| Cysts | Mechanical filtration helps reduce cysts such as Cryptosporidium |
| Limescale | Polyphosphate helps inhibit scale formation and protects boilers and appliances |
| Other contaminants | Manufacturer states reduction of pesticides, insecticides, detergents, heavy metals, asbestos fibres, fine microplastics, and oxidised manganese, sulphate and iron |
The manufacturer's chlorine testing provides particularly useful performance data. At a test flow rate of 2 litres per minute, chlorine reduction remained above 95% throughout testing to 7,200 litres, including 98.0% at 3,600 litres and 95.7% at 7,200 litres.
Scale-control testing was carried out using water at approximately 480mg/L hardness as CaCO3. Scale inhibition was 94.11% after 7,000 litres under the stated test conditions.
The ACQ-IFC+ is not a water softener. Polyphosphate helps control the formation of limescale but does not remove the calcium and magnesium minerals responsible for water hardness.
It is also not a reverse osmosis or specialist purification cartridge. The supplied technical information does not establish reduction of contaminants such as fluoride, nitrates or dissolved salts, so wwe wouldn't claim those reduction for this filter.
For those requiring a different level of treatment, see our water softeners for hardness removal or reverse osmosis filters for more comprehensive dissolved-contaminant reduction.

The manufacturer's documentation states that the cartridge uses a 1 micron carbon block and polyphosphate crystals, recommends a six month lifespan and describes the high-strength housing as capable of withstanding pressure above 120 psi / 8 bar.
The ACQ-IFC+ replacement cartridge should be changed every six months or after approximately 6,000 litres of water, whichever comes first.
Regular replacement helps maintain drinking water quality and ensures the scale-control media continues to provide protection for compatible boiling water tanks and appliances.
The manufacturer's technical information recommends a six-month service life cartridge lifespan.
Signs that your cartridge may need changing include:
Don't wait for a noticeable deterioration in taste before replacing the cartridge. The polyphosphate media also provides scale control, so an overdue cartridge may provide less protection even when the drinking water still appears normal.
If used with the Aquila 4-in-1 boiling water tap: replace the approved ACQ-IFC+ cartridge every six months and follow Acquapuro's descaling requirements to maintain the boiler warranty.
The ACQ-IFC+ is a replacement cartridge for an existing compatible installation. Your existing filter head, pipework and reusable fittings remain in place and are not supplied with this replacement cartridge.
The existing filtration system may use 1/4 or 3/8ths inch push-fit pipework, which Acquapuro describes as allowing straightforward cartridge changes without specialist tools.
Important: The replacement cartridge does not include a new filter head, installation kit or connecting pipework.
Yes, when fitted as the replacement cartridge in a compatible existing filtration system. The ACQ-IFC+ is used with compatible 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 boiling water tap systems as well as drinking water filter taps, fridges and ice makers. The manufacturer's documentation specifically lists these applications.
The cartridge contains polyphosphate crystals that help inhibit limescale formation. It does not soften the water or remove the calcium and magnesium responsible for hardness. Its role is to help control scale formation and protect compatible equipment.
Replace it every 6 months or after approximately 6,000 litres, whichever comes first. Regular replacement helps maintain filtration performance and effective scale control.
Yes. The 1 micron carbon block reduces chlorine as well as associated tastes and odours. In the supplied performance testing at 2 litres per minute, chlorine reduction remained above 95% through testing to 7,200 litres.
No. This product is the replacement ACQ-IFC+ filter cartridge only. It is intended for customers who already have a compatible filter system installed. Filter head, connecting pipework and installation fittings are not included.
